p.s. Remember that nobody expected President Clinton to go without punishment after leaving office. The question was whether or not to impeach him. Democrats merely argued that his offense didn’t rise to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” He was reprimanded, mildly as was fitting, after leaving office, with no protest.
